Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 29 June 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Speaking for MET. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Service provided as is

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose.

Identification

Speaking for MET services are provided by ANTON ZHYRNYI UNIPESSOAL LDA, NIPC: PT519142969, registered LDA in Portuguese Republic.

An independent service

Speaking for MET is an independent test-preparation service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Michigan English Test or its owners. All content on the website is created by us or licensed from the respective sources.

Eligibility

To create an account you must be at least 18 years old, or the age of being considered an adult in your country, and legally capable of entering into agreements. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep it up to date.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Sharing accounts is forbidden, and accounts are not transferable.

Subscriptions, billing, and renewals

We offer one-month and three-month plans. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel them through the user interface. You can switch your subscription at any time in the user interface. Refunds are provided in 14-days window after a purchase of the subscription if the paid examinaton was not used.

AI-generated assessments

We use advanced AI modules to evaluate your performance. The results are a close approximation and do not reflect your actual result on the official test. They are intended for practice only and should not be relied on as an official score. We store your audio recording only for as long as we need it to transcribe it; once transcribed, the audio is deleted from our servers and we retain only the transcript.

Technical requirements

For proper audio recording you need a wired headset with a microphone, and you should be in a quiet room while completing speaking tasks. We are not responsible for results affected by inadequate equipment or a noisy environment.

Discount codes

We may occasionally offer discount codes with an expiry date. Discount codes cannot be combined, are not transferable, and apply only while valid. After a discount ends, the subscription returns to its regular price.

Intellectual property and acceptable use

All content on the platform belongs to the company. You may not copy, reproduce, resell, or distribute it. You may not use the platform for your own commercial training unless we authorize it in writing. Failure to comply may result in account deletion without a refund, as well as legal action.

Suspension and termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without explanation, including but not limited to cases of sharing login details, misuse of the platform, attempts to jailbreak or misuse the AI, violations of intellectual property rights, fraud, and chargebacks. If suspension or termination happens, leftover of the subscription is refunded.

Availability

The service does not have guaranteed availability and may be unavailable from time to time. We are not liable for service interruptions that are outside of our control.

Limitation of liability

We are not responsible for your performance on the test, for any academic or immigration outcomes, for loss of data, or for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Privacy

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which form part of these terms.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the respective courts.

Consumer dispute resolution

In accordance with Law no. 144/2015 of 8 September, if you are a consumer and a dispute arises that we cannot resolve directly, you may turn to an alternative consumer-dispute resolution entity. As our service is provided online and is not covered by a regional arbitration centre, the competent entity is the National Centre for Information and Arbitration of Consumer Disputes (CNIACC), available at https://www.cniacc.pt. Consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. When we make meaningful and impactful changes, we will notify you by email. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent version.
