Cookie Policy
Last updated: 18 June 2026
This policy explains how Speaking for MET uses cookies and similar technologies. We keep this short on purpose: we only use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the site and to remember your language choice. We do not use cookies for advertising, cross-site tracking, or building marketing profiles.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It lets the site remember things between page loads, such as whether you are signed in.
Cookies we set
All of the cookies below are first-party (set by Speaking for MET) and essential to how the site works.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
sessionid |
Keeps you signed in to your account. Without it you cannot stay logged in. | Up to 2 weeks |
csrftoken |
Protects forms and actions against cross-site request forgery (a security measure). | Browser session |
django_language |
Remembers whether you chose English or Spanish. | Browser session |
Third-party services
When you take certain actions, we hand you off to trusted third parties that run their own pages and may set their own cookies. These cookies are controlled by those providers, not by us:
| Service | When it applies |
|---|---|
| Stripe | When you start a checkout or manage your subscription, you are taken to Stripe's hosted pages to handle payment securely. |
| If you choose to sign in with Google, you are taken to Google's sign-in pages. |
For details on those cookies, please see Stripe's and Google's own privacy and cookie policies.
Analytics
We use Simple Analytics to understand overall traffic. It is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies or track you across sites.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Because the cookies we set are essential, blocking them will break core features such as signing in and submitting forms.
